About the post- Institute of Engineering and Rural Technology (IERT), Prayagraj has released the information brochure for IERT Entrance Exam 2026. IERT is the first polytechnic in Asia, established in 1955, and approved by AICTE and recognized by the Government of UP. It offers 3-year Engineering Diploma (13 branches), 2-year Management Diploma (3 branches), and 1.5-year Post Diploma in Computer Applications. Admission is based on merit in the entrance examination. Candidates from Uttar Pradesh are mainly eligible; Candidates from other states can be considered only if the seats in UP remain vacant.

Answer: The entrance exam is of 3 hours duration consisting of 75 multiple choice objective questions of maximum 300 marks. Each correct answer carries 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. For courses with interview, an additional 100 marks are allotted for interview.

Answer: There is no maximum age limit for any course. Minimum age requirement varies according to the course: 14 years for Engineering Diploma, 16 years for Management Diploma and 18 years for Post Diploma in Computer Applications as on 01-07-2026.

Answer: There is no separate quota for candidates from other states. However, as per UP Government rules, if candidates from UP state are not available to fill the seats, they can be admitted.
